The Regulated Woman Retreat

You're up before your alarm again.

Mind racing, answering messages with one hand and brushing your teeth with the other. You forgot to eat lunch for the fourth time this week. By afternoon you're running on fumes, and the extra cup of coffee only makes it worse.

You snap at something small and immediately feel guilty. You lie in bed exhausted while your brain keeps replaying the day, so you doom-scroll until way too late. And the cycle repeats itself.

You're the one who remembers all the appointments, answers the texts, catches what others missed, and somehow keeps everything moving. It's easier to do it yourself than explain what you need — so you do it yourself, again.

You've tried slowing down. You've taken the vacation. You've read the books. Nothing moves the needle. Deep down, you're starting to wonder if this is just how life feels now.

Picture this

Day two, somewhere between the trees and the water.

Yesterday you arrived not knowing anyone. Dinner was simple. The conversation was easy. Nobody was trying to impress anyone. You didn't have to plan anything — you just showed up.

This morning you walked along the lake while the sun filtered through the pines. Somewhere between the trees, the water, and not having anywhere you needed to be, you realized you hadn't checked your phone in hours. You laughed without thinking about your inbox. You finished a cup of coffee while it was still hot.

Nothing about your life has changed. But something about the way you feel inside it has. Not fixed. Not transformed. Just quieter — in a way that feels like it might actually last.

Let's clear something up first

Whether this is your first retreat or your tenth,
here's what makes this one work differently.

01

Not your typical retreat

No new age spiritual stuff. No mimosas by the pool. We use nature, adventure, functional health principles, and pure fun to help you stop living on autopilot.

02

Not an escape

This isn't about leaving your life behind. It's about giving you the tools to regulate here — and to return to your life differently.

03

Not therapy or another book

You've done the thinking. No need to rehash trauma for this healing; it's all body-based. This is where you practice something different.

04

Something that stays with you

This isn't mindset or motivation work. You learn daily practices you'll still be using six months from now.

How this retreat actually solves what you're carrying.

The problem

Your body is keeping score.

You feel tired no matter how much you sleep. Your breath is shallower than a kiddie pool. Coffee helps less than it used to, and you still have brain fog.

The solution

Movement that helps your body slow down.

Juicy Roll sessions teach your body something your mind can't think its way into. Your body learns to feel release — and the take-home cork roller keeps the work going.

The problem

You understand the problem. The pattern keeps repeating.

You've read the books. You've done the therapy. Life gets busy again, and somehow you end up right back here.

The solution

Practice instead of more information.

You'll learn ways to interrupt the patterns, and leave knowing exactly which alarm your body reaches for first — so the moment it goes off, you know what's happening and what to do.

The problem

You go on vacation, but it doesn't help.

By the following Tuesday, the inbox and the people and the same patterns are waiting for you exactly as they were when you left.

The solution

Support that doesn't end when the retreat does.

A body reset guide. Practices small enough for a real daily schedule. A post-retreat integration call and nervous system mapping for when life picks back up.

The problem

You've spent years being the one everyone leans on.

Taking time for yourself feels uncomfortable, because you're used to being the one taking care of everyone else.

The solution

A place where you don't have to earn your place.

A small group doing real work without performing. Solitude when you need it, connection when you want it. Every activity opt-in. No sharing, performing, or proving required. We mean it.

From the founder

Why I built this retreat.

When I was burned out, I went looking for relief in the places everyone else seemed to find it. Vacations, spa trips, girls' trips, adventures. Each one helped in its own way. None of them touched the layer that was actually asking for attention.

The work that ever truly changed me had a different shape. In the military I learned about staff rides — leadership immersions where you walk the actual terrain, feel the weight of decisions made in that place, and let your body learn what no classroom can teach. The shift never came from a book or a session. It came from being inside the experience with my body and my attention both present.

High-functioning women need staff rides too. Not a workshop. Not another framework. A container where the nervous system can finally exhale. I built True North to be the retreat I needed and couldn't find.

The itinerary

Four days for women ready to trade tension for calm.
The pace is intentional, not packed.

Thursday, October 8

Arrival & the Exhale

The lodge entrance portal at Suttle Lake

Arrive in Sisters and let the pace of the world drop away, settling into your private space at The Point with welcome gifts and grounding tea. Then gather at The Den for opening workshops — beginning with Kelsey on the difference between performance and presence, and a Survival Archetype decode — followed by a Fascial Wake-Up Session with Malaena to prepare your body for the deeper work ahead. The evening closes around a chef-prepared fall harvest dinner and an early rest.

Friday, October 9

Grounding, Release & The Burn

Sun breaking through the pines above Suttle Lake

Morning opens with a full Fascia Rolling Class with Malaena — an introduction to the Juicy Roll Method, body mapping, and an orientation to the take-home cork roller you'll keep using long after the retreat ends. The afternoon moves to a guided hike along the Suttle Lake Loop, with breath and reflection built into the walking itself, so your body has time to catch up with everything the morning stirred loose. Then rest. After dinner, gather around the fire for the Firelight Survival Burn, a guided ritual on releasing the braced self, with grounding breathwork as the flames work.

Saturday, October 10

Adventure & Reclamation

Side-by-side ATV kicking up dust on a forest trail near Sisters

Morning begins early as we set out on the Black Sands ATV Tour — a ride through ancient volcanic terrain wild enough to prove to your body that it can feel fully alive and still be safe. Sack lunch provided. Back at the lodge, we move into a longer session of fascial work and breath, softening what the morning stirred up before it has anywhere to go. This is the deepest release of the weekend, and it lands exactly where it should: after the body has been fully alive and is finally ready to let something go.

Sunday, October 11

Integration & Return

Adirondack chairs under the pavilion facing Suttle Lake

The final morning opens with a fascia rolling session at The Den, then a closing session with the Ritual of Return — a reflection that compares how you arrived to how you're leaving. Then the group gathers for a goodbye brunch. Four-night guests depart after this, leaving with the tools, the body memory, and the integration plan to carry the work forward into the life you return to.

Optional extension · Sun night – Mon morning

For Four-Night Guests

Hot air balloon aloft over the high desert mountains

For those staying an additional day, the afternoon opens into horseback riding through the Sisters landscape, followed by free time and dinner in town. Monday morning is a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the high desert — a proper send-off for a body that finally feels fully alive — followed by one last breakfast together before departures.

Take it with you

Want all four days in your inbox?

Kelsey will send the full itinerary, what's included at each room tier, and an honest note about who this retreat is really for — so you can sit with it before you decide anything.

What's included

You show up. We handle the rest.

  • Guided Suttle Lake hike with integrated somatic flow teaching, so your nervous system starts learning what it feels like to move without bracing.
  • Juicy Roll Method classes with founder Malaena Kelson — multiple fascial release sessions where your body lets go of bracing it has held for years.
  • Conscious Connected Breathwork with Courtney Beam, who will show your body what it has been doing with the breath you weren't paying attention to.
  • Black Sands ATV adventure — a ride wild enough to wake your body up, in a setting safe enough for it to realize that being wide awake and being okay can happen together.
  • Three chef-prepared anti-inflammatory meals every day — functional nutrition by Chef Susan, designed around blood-sugar balance, hormone support, and recovery.
  • Roundtrip transportation from Redmond Regional Airport to lodging and all activities.
  • Take-home cork roller and body reset guide, so the fascial work continues after you leave.
  • Post-retreat integration call with Kelsey, to anchor the experience before real life resumes.
Guests resting under blankets by the lodge fireplace during a session

What's not included

  • Flights to and from Redmond Airport
  • Travel insurance — we recommend it in case of illness, flight disruption, or emergency cancellation
  • Personal shopping, souvenirs, and alcohol (the retreat is alcohol-free)

This is for you if:

  • The signs are getting harder to ignore — you're exhausted, short-tempered, or wired at night.
  • What used to work isn't working anymore, and you can't keep telling yourself you'll deal with it later.
  • You've avoided retreats because you didn't want crystals, fluff, or someone telling you what to worship. You were right to wait.
  • You want something that lasts — not another retreat that feels good until Tuesday.
  • You're ready for something that actually moves the needle.

It's probably not for you if:

  • You're looking for a luxury spa weekend, a vacation, or all-you-can-drink.
  • You're in active mental health crisis and need clinical support first.
  • You're hoping someone else will do the work for you.
  • You're looking for a quick fix instead of lasting change.
  • You're not ready to participate in your own restoration.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this therapy?

No. None of the facilitators are licensed therapists, and the retreat isn't designed to replace clinical care. The work is somatic and body-based, focused on your nervous system rather than your story. If you're currently in therapy, this retreat will likely complement that work. If you're in active crisis or need clinical support, this isn't the right room.

Do I need experience with breathwork, fascia work, or somatic practices?

No. Everything is taught in the moment and built to meet you where you are. The Juicy Roll Method, Conscious Connected Breathwork, and somatic teaching are introduced with full context and instruction. If you've done any of these before, you'll go deeper. If you haven't, you'll be guided through every step.

Is everything mandatory?

No. Every session is opt-in. The retreat is structured so that stepping out of a single activity doesn't take you out of the arc of the work. If a practice doesn't feel right for your body that day, you're welcome to rest, journal, or be at the property quietly while the group continues.

What if I don't know anyone?

Most women come alone. The retreat is structured so the group forms its own connection over the first day, and the opening workshops are designed specifically to make that easier. You won't be expected to perform connection. It arrives on its own.

What's included in the price?

Lodging, all meals, all facilitated sessions, the take-home cork roller and reset guide, the post-retreat integration call, and access to all on-property amenities. Travel to and from the lodge, alcohol (the retreat is alcohol-free), and personal incidentals are not included. Payment plans are available for every room tier.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Yes. Susan Zimmerman, our private chef, accommodates allergies, intolerances, and dietary preferences — including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan needs. Specific requirements are collected after your application is accepted, and menus are planned accordingly.

Why is this application-only?

Because the room is small and the work is real. The application step exists to make sure each woman is a strong fit for what the retreat is built to do, and that the retreat is the right container for what she's looking for. It's a conversation, not a gate.

Should I book the call or just apply?

Either door works. The call is thirty minutes with Kelsey and is the fastest way to find out whether this is the right room for you — fit runs both ways. If you'd rather write than talk, go straight to the application.

What happens after I apply?

You'll receive a confirmation email within forty-eight hours. Kelsey reviews each application personally and either confirms your spot, asks a follow-up question, or — if the fit isn't right — offers an honest conversation about what might serve you better.
